[Sweet Sauces]

170g/6oz plain chocolate, chopped

4 tablespoons water

1 tablespoon golden syrup

1 teaspoon instant coffee powder, dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water

15g/½oz butter

  1. Put the chocolate into a heatproof bowl, set over, not in, a saucepan of simmering water. When melted add all the remaining ingredients and stir until smooth and shiny.
